GAVIN “Dundee” Clark, a former Caribs RFC and TT men’s national team player, died earlier this month in his native Scotland.

Clark, a quantity surveyor, who migrated to TT to work in 1962, died on January 2 at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. A memorial service was h

eld for him on January 20 at St Ann’s Memorial Church.

The TT Rugby Football Union (TTRFU), in a media release issued yesterday, remembered Clark as “an ultimate cheerleader to TT rugby and an avid supporter of the national teams.”

“The TTRFU joins the family of Garvin ‘Dundee Clark’ in mourning his passing,” the release read.

Clark was a founding member of Trinidad Enthusiasts RFC, with which he organised overseas tours to Europe, North America and South America. He was also developed the Caribs RFC clubhouse at Zoo Road in 1984, which was destroyed by fire in 2017.

Clarke served as TTRFU president from 1974-1976 and from 1997-1998, as well as Caribs RFC president from 1982-1984.

“Gavin was a patriot, because after all these accomplishments, he was an ultimate cheerleader to Trinidad and Tobago Rugby and an avid supporter of the national teams,” the release noted.
